I
Orders & Process

Every piece at Curious Taxidermy is handcrafted individually after your order is placed — not mass-produced, not pulled from a shelf. When you order a made-to-order piece, you're commissioning something made specifically for you, by hand, from start to finish.

Production time varies by piece and is always listed in the product description. It isn't a delay — it's the work itself.

The production timeline is listed in each product description. Once your item is ready, shipping time is added on top.

Ready-to-ship items are dispatched within 3–5 business days. These are finished pieces waiting for a keeper — no production wait.

II
Shipping

We currently ship to the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Switzerland.

If your destination isn't on that list, please get in touch before placing an order — don't let distance stop you from asking.

Estimated delivery times after dispatch:

  • USA — 1–3 business days
  • European Union — 5–10 business days
  • United Kingdom — 7–14 business days
  • Canada — 10–21 business days
  • Switzerland — 7–14 business days

These are estimates. Delays caused by postal services or customs are beyond our control.

Orders shipped outside the European Union may be subject to customs duties and import taxes. These are the buyer's responsibility and not included in the product price or shipping cost.

Contact us within 14 days of delivery at info@curioustaxidermy.com with clear photographs of the damage and packaging. Each case is assessed individually.

III
Returns & Custom Orders

Made-to-order and handcrafted pieces cannot be returned — each one is created individually for the buyer.

Ready-to-ship items may be returned within 14 days of delivery in original, unused condition. See our Refund Policy for full details.

Yes — custom commissions are some of the most interesting work that comes through the atelier. Every commission begins as a conversation.

Please contact us at info@curioustaxidermy.com before purchasing. We'll discuss timelines, materials, and exactly what you're imagining. Nothing is too unusual to ask about.

IV
Sourcing & Ethics

Everything is sustainably sourced. Nothing is bred or killed specifically for this work — I preserve and give new life to remains that already exist.

I personally collect, clean, preserve, and assemble many of the remains by hand. Over the years I've built trusted relationships with local people, collectors, and suppliers who help source pieces that would otherwise be discarded.

Some skulls come from old vintage collections. Others are sourced locally — from farmers, small homesteads, or trusted hunters I personally know.

Rabbit feet, chicken remains and similar pieces come from people who already raise animals for food — not materials produced for this work.

My bats come from a trusted entomologist working with local communities. My insects are sourced from ethical suppliers working with local communities in the regions where those species occur.
